Brighten Tech Featured in the Australian Financial Review
Brighten Tech was featured in the Australian Financial Review in its coverage of the evolving cyber threat landscape and the growing impact of AI-enabled cybercrime.
Brighten Tech cyber intelligence analyst Tom Guerin discussed how AI is changing the speed and scale of cyberattacks, and why organisations need to move beyond traditional perimeter security and focus on identifying compromised access, stolen credentials and sensitive data before attackers can exploit them.
Guerin highlighted the growing risk posed by credentials, session tokens and sensitive information circulating through criminal networks for months before being exploited, and the importance of earlier intelligence and detection in strengthening organisational cyber resilience.

In the AFR article, Tom Guerin, a cyber intelligence analyst at Brighten Tech, said cyber resilience in the AI era is no longer only about keeping attackers out. It is about “finding compromised access before attackers use it”.
Guerin also said AI is giving cybercriminals the ability to “automate reconnaissance, identify vulnerabilities and deploy attacks at unprecedented scale”.
Why stolen credentials are a cyber security risk
Stolen credentials and session tokens give attackers access that can look legitimate, and as Guerin told the AFR, they can circulate through criminal networks for months before being used. Finding that compromised access first, through dark net monitoring, lets an organisation act before the damage is done.
About Brighten Tech and Radiance
Brighten Tech is an Australian cyber intelligence company. Its Radiance platform provides continuous, real-time dark net monitoring (also called dark web monitoring) and alerts organisations when their credentials, client data or sensitive files surface in criminal environments, so compromised access can be detected earlier.
Tom Guerin is a cyber intelligence analyst at Brighten Tech. His commentary on AI-driven cyber threats and cyber resilience is published in the Brighten Tech Resources.
Brighten Tech works with government and enterprise organisations, professional services firms and IT and MSSP providers, and offers a channel partner program for MSSPs and resellers.
